History. Every year, just prior to Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, Squadron 401 runs a lobster sale as a CAP fundraiser to help offset the cost of squadron operations and cadet programs. This effort was started in the 1990s and has been run by 1st Lt Bill Durdan and is very popular. To the extent it can be supported logistically, Squadron 401 sells lobsters through several surrounding squadrons and the funds are split proportionally.
