Labor Day Lobster Order Deadline: TUE 30 AUG 2011

Labor Day Lobster Sale Pickup 4–6 p.m. FRI 02 SEP 2011 at CAP Williamsport, 401A Airport Road, Montoursville. Bring your cooler and ice. Cooking instructions will be provided.

WHAT: Restaurant-sized whole Atlantic Maine Lobsters—delivered fresh live or uncooked frozen lobster tails.

PRICES. There are two choices:
Fresh, live lobsters (1-1/4 lb. avg. size) are $11.00 each.
Uncooked, frozen lobster tails (2 per bag, avg. 10 oz. total net weight) are $14.00 each bag of 2 tails.

Your order will be acknowledged by return email. We do not accept payment online. You will have to bring a check or cash, or, if you want to mail your payment in advance, you may send it to CAP Squadron 401, 401A Airport Road, Montoursville, PA 17754-2319, payable to CAP Squadron 401.

Questions Sometimes Asked
• Q: Are our lobsters "hard or soft shell?"
• A: The spring lobsters are "old shell" and harder whereas the fall lobsters are "new shell" and softer and can generally be cracked with the hand. Just like crabs the lobsters shed their shell in summer. The meat tastes the same although some people prefer the "new shell" lobsters.

History. Every year, just prior to Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, Squadron 401 runs a lobster sale as a CAP fundraiser to help offset the cost of squadron operations and cadet programs. It is especially important now that Pennsylvania funding for CAP has been zeroed out of the state budget, despite the vital emergency services we provide, which makes it difficult for PA Wing HQ to support local squadrons. The fundraiser was started in the 1990s and has been run by 1st Lt Bill Durdan and is very popular. To the extent it can be supported logistically, Squadron 401 sells lobsters through several surrounding squadrons and the funds are split proportionally.
